Reproduction WW2 German Butter Dish or "Fettdose". Originals were made of Bakelite and came in various colors. These repros are made of plastic that simulates the original Bakelite material. The plastic is a bit stronger than the original Bakelite construction and much safer to use for food. The threads are spaced like the originals and it takes about 1/4 turn to close or open them.
