Thumbnail Filmstrip of Reproduction M40 Helmet Images
The M40 became the standard issue helmet in 1940 and was used until the end of the war by the Germans. All branches were issued M40 helmets.
Decent quality reproductions at a fair price. This new batch has seen a few improvements since the last batch. The helmets are now made of a nice gauge steel and painted a more proper flat dark fieldgrey comparable to originals. The leather liners are now thicker and stronger with a quality chinstrap.
The shells are marked 68 with a large 60/61 liner
The weight and thickness of the shell is similar to originals, the leather appears to be calfskin, and the chinstraps a nice.
All shells are "size 68" with a large 61 liner. No other sizes.
-None of these helmets are perfect meaning there can be a
small chip/scratch in the paint, these are not considered
defect items.
-The liners vary a little and can either be a medium brown or a lighter brown.
