New Reproduction Jackboots. Made Exclusively for Kelley's Military. No Other Vendor is Offering These Boots!
I
Worked hand in hand for roughly a year with the manufacturer, going
over every detail. I've offered similar boots from a reputable
manufacturer for many years, I've leanered a lot from studying there
boots as well as original examples. As a result I can now offer more
accurate boot at a More Affordable Price.
The boots are made using a 2.5-3mm leather
and feature the shark nose style toe and a slightly taper heal. They
are constructed of a rough outer toe and smooth uppers. The soles are held together using wood and
steel pegs as well as being bonded with glue making them very strong.
The soles edges are finished off with a wax sealing them from water or other things that might soak into them. The shafts of these boots measure aproximately 35 cenemiters in height.
The
bottom of the boots are finished off with reproduction steel heel/toe
irons and hobnails. Hobnails were a challenge we modeled them after the common seen original replacement nails. We found this nail always holds better than the 2 prong variants. The spike that goes into the boot is basically a nail with a slightly oversized head with ribs, when the sole swells a little the leather tends to grab onto them and keep them in longer.
Sizing: The
boots are measured in centimeters and the sizes are pretty much exact. We strongly recommend you measure
yourself and not just go by the size inside your Nike basketball
sneakers or Aldo's dress shoes. Please if you have any questions contact us we want you to get the correct size the first time.
On a hard surface (not a rug) wearing
socks stand on a piece of paper and draw an outline of your foot. Take
the outline and measure it from the longest points toe to heel in
centimeters. Then add 2 centimeters to that measurement this will
give you you're size.
Example: If your outline measures 28cm add 2cm = 30cm
Calfs: These increase slightly as the size gets larger but they should accommodate a 15-16 inch calf. If your going to measure this do it with your wool trousers on.
Widths: All are a Regular width if you have wide feet these will most likely not fit you.
Break In: This
new batch is very supple but all boots should be broken in. Breaking in
a boot like this is essentially molding it to your specific foot.
Break In Steps:
- Try them on make sure they fit after they are broken in you will not be able to return them
- If you want to blacken your boots this should be done before anything
- Dub them with Shoe grease such as Huberd or Snoseal
- Polish them if you would like (this depends on the owner)
- Get them wet
- Wearing whatever socks you will be using put the boots on
- Wear them around until dry
Care: You
will need to seal them from time to time depending on how much you use
them, best thing to use is a type of shoe grease such as Huberd's.
NEVER DRY THEM INFRONT OF A FIRE OR WITH A BLOW DRYER ETC.
This goes for reenactment campfires as well. After use unlace them and
simply let them air dry, if you want to speed up the process you can
blow on them a little but you might get light headed.
