Thumbnail Filmstrip of Early War Y-Straps (Long) Images
These are designed for people taller than 6' 2'
These were
the standard combat suspenders used by German troops during Early stages
of WWII. There were a few variations of Y-straps issued these were
among the first during the war. Earlier versions would have aluminum
hardware as opposed to steel. The adjustment method for the auxiliary
straps used for these has a stud, later in the war they were changed to a
buckle that slid up and down and some stitching was simplified. Even
though they simplified later versions these continued to be used until
the end of the war. Hardware, size and types of leather also varied
depending on the manufacturer.
