Thumbnail Filmstrip of Mid/Late War Y-Straps Leather Images
These were
the standard combat suspenders used by German troops during Mid/Late stages
of WWII, started to appear during in 1942-43. Earlier versions would have aluminum
hardware as opposed to steel. These are just a simplified version of the Early War straps, the adjustment method for the auxiliary straps were changed from a stud to a buckle that slid up and down and the stitching for the rivet cover now went thru to the front. These along with the Early type were used until the end of the war. Hardware, size, and types of leather also varied depending on the
manufacturer.
